Crestwood High School (CHS) will host its orientation session for all parents and students Thursday, August 16, according to the following schedule:  freshmen and all newly enrolled students will meet the administrative team in the Fine Arts Center from 5:45 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., followed by the transition to classrooms from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.  Orientation for upperclassmen will begin at 6:45 p.m., and they may report directly to their respective classrooms.  The orientation session will conclude at 7:30 p.m.  Parking will be available in the parking lots in front of the school, fine arts center, and gymnasium.

Details concerning fees, schedules, and other procedures will be printed in the newsletter that will be mailed to parents and students by Wednesday, August 8.  Please contact the guidance office if schedules are not received by Monday, August 13.  Schedule confirmations will be conducted on campus August 13-15.  Courses will be changed by appointment if there is a legitimate need such as:  1) scheduled for a class in which credit has been received, 2) not scheduled for eight classes, 3) course(s) required for graduation are needed, and 4) failed a course and prerequisite is required.

Schedules will be changed based on the following schedule: Monday, August 13-Sophomore, Junior and Senior Confirmation Day (8 a.m. – 4 p.m.); Tuesday, August 14- Sophomore, Junior and Senior Confirmation Day (8 a.m. – 4 p.m.); or Wednesday, August 15-Freshman Confirmation Morning (8 a.m. – 12 noon). Please call CHS Guidance Office to schedule your appointment time.

Student handbooks, which include school and district expectations, will be distributed on the first day of school.  Parents are respectfully requested to review the handbooks with their children.  The first day of school for students is Monday, August 20.

Drop-off and pick-up procedures:  Parents who drive their children to school should arrive in the staff/visitor parking lot no later than 8:35 a.m.; the pick-up time is no later than 4:15 p.m.

Students who drive must arrive at the designated parking lot no later than 8:30 a.m. Student drivers must complete the school driver safety course, the ALIVE AT 25 training, and complete the application prior to driving to school.  Permits will be issued on a first come/first served basis; therefore, student drivers must obtain the permit as soon as possible to avoid being denied permission to drive to school.  Parking permits must be obtained in person; mail-in registration does not include parking permits.
