Alice Drive Middle School, a nationally certified STEM school, will host a mini-camp orientation on Wednesday, August 3, from 1:00 until 3:30 pm. Students and parents who will be attending Alice Drive Middle for the first time are invited to attend. Through a series of rotation stations, students will tour the campus through a scavenger hunt, explore STEM through a problem-based learning activity, and learn about the use of chrome books to help ensure everyone gets off to a great start. Tables will be set up featuring information regarding various aspects of student life to include academics, athletics, parent engagement, and other extra-curricular activities. In addition, students will have the opportunity to have their ID picture taken and meet administrators, teachers, and other staff members. Parents can pay the $20 chrome book usage fee at this time. An alternative, “drop-in” style orientation will be held on Friday, August 12 from 9:00 until 11:00 am.

Monday, August 15 is the first day for student attendance and will be designated as our “STEM SOAR Camp.” Students will receive schedules, review school-wide behavior expectations and procedures, and explore STEM through a variety of problem-based learning activities. An open house is scheduled on August 30 from 5:30 to 7:00 pm for all students and parents.

Drop-Off/Pick-Up Procedures: Parents who bring children to school should enter campus using gate one (1) off of University Drive by making a right turn only. The earliest students may be dropped off in the mornings is 7:10 am. To avoid congestion, parents are asked to make a left-turn only when exiting campus out of gate two. Walkers should enter the designated entrance in the gym foyer. In the interest of student safety, please do not drop students off on University Drive, at the front of the school, or in the bus loading/unloading area.
