Crestwood High School (CHS) will host its orientation session for all parents and students on Tuesday, August 15 according to the following schedule: freshmen and newly enrolled students will meet the administrative team in the Fine Arts Center from 5:45 until 6:00 p.m., followed by the transition to classrooms from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Sophomores, juniors, and seniors who are new students to CHS will meet the administrative team from 6:45 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Fine Arts Center, followed by the transition to classrooms from 7:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Parking will be available in the parking lots in front of the school, Fine Arts Center, and gymnasium.
Details concerning fees, schedules, and other procedures will be printed in the newsletter that will be mailed to parents and students on Thursday, August 10. Please contact the guidance office if schedules are not received by Monday, August 14. Schedule confirmation week will be held August 14 – 17 with the exception of August 16. Courses will be changed by appointment if there is a legitimate need to meet graduation requirements based on the following schedule: Monday, August 14, senior confirmation day; Tuesday, August 15, junior confirmation day; Wednesday, August 16, no schedule changes; Thursday, August 17, sophomore confirmation day; Friday, August 18, freshman confirmation day.
Student handbooks, which include school and district expectations, will be distributed on the first day of school. Parents are respectfully requested to review the handbooks with their students. The first day of school for students is Monday, August 21 and it is a half day with breakfast served.
Drop-off and pick-up procedures: Parents who drive their children to school should arrive in the staff/visitor parking lot no later than 8:35 a.m.; the pick-up time is no later than 4:15 p.m.
Students who drive must arrive at the designated parking lot no later than 8:30 a.m. Student drivers must complete the school driver safety course, the ALIVE AT 25 training, and complete the application prior to driving to school. Permits will be issued on a first come/first served basis so student drivers must obtain the permit as soon as possible to avoid being denied permission to drive to school. Parking permits must be obtained in person; mail-in registration does not include parking permits.
